The Casualties Of Summer

I had a wild weekend, and I've got lots to share. Right now, however, I can only think on one thing. My remarkable sunburn. Thank goodness for Aloe Vera. I've been slathering it on all day. Last week Sarah and I met at GCB for a beer and she invited me to join her at the pool on Sunday. Tonight I'm joining her again to watch a little baseball, my third game this week. Hopefully we'll have seats in the shade.

Photo Essay Tuesday (Josh Edition)

My big weekend plans for Josh's visit kind of fell by the wayside when, about 45 minutes after he stepped off the plane in Denver, he started feeling the ill effects of the altitude. So, instead of running around the city trying to see as much as possible we spent a lot of time sitting in the sun on my patio grilling and reading and just shooting the breeze. Not that I'm complaining. We did manage to take in some Golden. Well, my Golden, which really includes the big brewery, the little brewery and the grill on my deck. Katie, Kassie and J.Paul joined us to soak up some seriously beautiful weather. We played cards... We got a little sun... Seriously, you can't blame the guy for trying to shut me up, if only for a minute. The day grew longer and the beer grew stronger... Kate and Josh battled it for the title of 22 champion... Sadly none of us could remember all the rules! Enter Mak, tired after a big bike ride, but just in time to drink some beer and keep us all in stitches.

Sunshine

There is an old joke here in Colorado "If you don't like the weather... just wait five minutes." This weekend was a perfect example, Saturday it was sunny and 75 degrees outside, today, snow. So, Friday night I got home from work late, sevenish. I still wasn't feeling great and decided to stay in, I was bit by the cleaning bug so I took advantage of the mood and clean, clean, cleaned my apartment. Laundry, vacuuming, dusting, mopping. All done. I went to bed early and woke up Saturday morning feeling great. I had a long to-do list of homework all ready to go. I was planning on finding a new coffee shop and camping out to get some work done, but when Jill called (on her way home from snowboarding) and suggested some GCB, well, it was too nice out to be productive. So, beer and dominoes in the sunshine it was.

Of all the days

Of all the days to forget to bring my camera. Highlights from last night include: Seeing just about everyone I know from college. Including the ex-boyfriend and his preggers wife (dirty looks and all) Including half of my old sorority sisters It is unfortunate that we all can't live together in this small town and get over it. I'm not moving, they're not moving, and we have the same favorite places. We are going to bump into one another, lets move on. More highlights: Repeat of Thursday, drinking cold beer in the sun at the brewery. wood's for dinner, but dinner was really just a big Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Beers on the patio at the Buff (what can I say it was a beautiful day) Karaoke: Poison (Bel Biv Devoe.... and now you know) All drama aside it was a really fun night. Sippin' some Mad Molly Brown Ale on Thursday
